How do I store the dough?

Dough is made with food grade ingredients.  Store dough in airtight bags, in a cool, dry place to keep soft and fresh.  Natural salt crystals may form.  To refresh, just knead dough and they will disappear.

Can kits be used multiple times?

Each time your child uses the kit, you will see new developments in how they handle the materials and how their creativity shines.  The kits will last for years!  The dough may need to be replenished after several months. 

Can I purchase replacement dough?

Certainly!  Dough is available for purchase on our site.  Typically, we sell the colors that are intended for each kit.  If you would like to place a custom order for specific colors, please message us for availability and pricing (treasurekit@gmail.com). 

Do you create custom kits?

Please email us at treasurekits@gmail.com. We love working with our customers to create full-size, mini, or jar kits to match your birthday party theme for each child to enjoy! 

Personalized kits must meet a minimum order requirement. 

What are the benefits of Sensory Play?

Children explore the world around them through their senses.  They gather information about their surrounding and make connections about new experiences through sensory play.

Treasure Kits help your child develop fine motor skills by providing an activity that is fun and interactive while strengthening little hands. Fine motor skills involve the use of the small muscles that control the hand, fingers and thumb. Developing these in early childhood builds the foundation for important future skills such as writing, feeding oneself, using scissors, buttoning and zipping. These skills encourage independence and foster self-confidence. Using dough in play has long been considered a  way to strengthen these critical muscles. Our themed kits are designed to engage young children and encourage longer sessions of play which build endurance for little hands. 

Sensory play is critical for language development.  As children create scenes and interact with the materials, there are endless opportunities for receptive and expressive language.  Ask your child to tell you about his/her plan.  Model descriptive language by describing the textures, colors, and shapes of the objects being used.  Ask open-ended questions or simply say, "Tell me more about that." 

How old does a child need to be to play with our kits?

WARNING:  Choking HAZARD due to small loose pieces.  This kit is not intended for children under the age of 3.  Adult supervision is required.

Kits are appropriate for children ages 3 and up.  Our nine year old children spend hours with these kits.  We have received positive feedback from customers who gave kits to children as old as twelve years of age.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes!  Click on (ADD LINK TO ITEM).  Gift cards expire 6 months after purchase. 

Can I you ship a kit for a gift?

Need a gift?  You can ship our kits directly to your gift recipient!  We are happy to include a gift message with a card.  Please leave gift message at checkout. 

Do you have local pickup in Lexington, KY?

For local pickup in Lexington, KY use code LOCAL (item will not ship). Please indicate if you will pick up in Palomar or Chevy Chase and leave your phone number so we can text you when your kit is ready for pick up. 

What should you do if your kit is damaged upon arrival?

Please email us immediately.  We will make it right!

Can I return my kit?

Treasure Kits products are non-returnable, refundable or exchangeable due to their handmade, made-to-order nature. 

If a product you receive is defective, please contact us within 48 hours by email.

If you would like to make changes after placing an order, notify us immediately and we ill the happy to accommodate you as long as your order has not been shipped.  Once your order has shipped, no changes can be made.  Email us at treasurekits@gmail.com with any questions.  Please include your name and order number in the email body.  The order number can be found in your initial email receipt.

 

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon arrival and notify us immediately if the kit has been damaged in transit or does not meet your expectations for any reason.
